Horizon Air Hijacking & the DB Cooper Mystery

Richard B Russell, a 29-year-old ground service operator at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, jacked a turboprop passenger plane from his workplace on 8/10/18. Despite having no pilot experience and apparently learning how to fly from “playing a few video games,” Russell took the big bird on a joyride through the skies of Washington State, performing aerial acrobatics (including a full barrel roll) while being chased by two F-15 fighter jets. 1 hour 11 minutes after taking off, Russell crashed onto Ketron Island in the Pugent Sound and was killed. 

The original detail that stood out to me (other than how the hell he managed this feat without a frickin pilot's license) was that in his “frenzied stream of consciousness” communication with air traffic control, he talked about wanting to see the orca whale who had made the news for pushing around her dead calf (for a total of 17 days). I wanted to know what symbolism that might entail - but then we found this detail:

Richard B Russell shares a name with Richard B Russell, a US Senator and former Governor of Georgia who just happened to be on the Warren Commission. He was also aggressively pro-segregation and famously led a racist boycott of the Democratic Convention after LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act of 1965. As should really come as no surprise to Extra-Capsa readers, we find some intriguing parallels between the two men. 

The stolen plane was a Horizon Q400 =1161 which is an alphanumeric anagram of Senator Russell =1161. 

Further, Richard Brevard Russell Jr =1161 (the Senator) passed away 11,191 days before 9/11/01 which happened exactly 16 years 11 months before this Horizon incident, just the right time for another hijacking story. Northwest Orient Airlines =1191, the airline that DB Cooper hijacked, as we’ll explore.

Seattle Tacoma International Airport =611, the very same airport involved in the unexplained 1971 hijacking of by Cooper =116. DB Cooper =116. Northwest Orient Airlines =1116. Washington =1116. 

The DB Cooper story was one of my first unexplained mysteries as a young lad, the man who hijacked a Boeing 727 passenger plane between Portland and Seattle - the same airport as this latest event with RB Russell - and after extorting a million dollars in ransom (in today’s value) unloaded all the passengers and parachuted out of the empty plane and was never heard from again. A genuine classic, and to this day the only unsolved case of air piracy in commercial aviation history. 

The DB Cooper hijacking of Northwest Orient =1999 happened 9 years 9 months 9 days before the founding of Horizon Air, which now operates some flights (including the one snatched by Russell) as Alaska Horizon =1999.

This Horizon incident also came the day after exactly 666 months after the first ever Boeing 727 flight, the same bird that Cooper hijacked. Horizon Air Industries =969 commenced operations 1696 weeks before MH-370 vanished.

For another juicy triplet, the DB Cooper event happened exactly 1,555 weeks before 9/11/01 in the appropriately coded New York =555 with the Pentagon across from the 555-foot Washington Monument, Bush & Cheney born 5 years 5 months 5 days apart, and the Invasion of Iraq launching 555 days later. 

The World Trade Center Twin Towers =555. Curiously, that very start date of the Iraq War (3/20/03) is also 15 years 5 months 5 days before our upcoming 8/24 target date - making for several key vectors in harmonics there. 

Beebo Russell =555 (his online handle) stole the plane 5,555 days after the 5/25/03 Angola 727 Disappearance, the only ’See Also' link mentioned on the Horizon Air Incident's wikipedia page. I've never heard of this one but it’s interesting, as two dudes (who also weren't trained to fly this big of a jet) somehow casually made off with a four-million-dollar aircraft in Angola Africa (one that used to fly with American Airlines, AA=11 / AA=11) and, disappearing without a trace, neither the men nor the Boeing 727 were ever seen again. 

We should here remind readers that DB Cooper also used a Boeing 727 for his unexplained mystery. Of course the big fish when it comes to aviation disappearances is Malaysia MH-370: a Boeing 777-200ER. And if you’ll recall, that story got even weirder when an identical Boeing 777-200ER by the same airline was shot down 131 days later: Flight 17 on 7/17 exactly 17 years to the day after its maiden voyage.

Cooper =1550.  DB’s hijack happened 11,505 days before the Angola Theft.  Germanwings =1055. Secrets =1505.  Secret Societies =551.  The Illuminati =551.  Royal =551.

One last brief run to leave with you: This Horizon Air incident in SeaTac Washington =176 happened a perfect 17,060 days after the DB Cooper hijacking - and Rich Russell =176 crashed a 76-seater aircraft a span of 176 weeks after the Germanwings Crash =176, making a clean triangulation between events.

Germanwings went down exactly 706 weeks after 9-11, piloted by Andreas Lubitz =607. Rich =706. Senator Russell =670 from the Warren Commission died 7 years 60 days after the JFK Assassination.
